A social gathering in Nairobi’s Embakasi area turned fatal when a 35-year-old man, Philip Kibet, fell from the fourth floor of an apartment and died instantly. Witnesses say he leaned on a balcony rail, lost balance, and plummeted to the ground, sustaining fatal head injuries. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
In a separate case in Ziwani, a 41-year-old woman, Caroline Wendi, was found dead in her single-room home. A neighbor who had prepared porridge for her discovered her unresponsive. Authorities are probing the cause of death.
Meanwhile, in Pangani, a 35-year-old construction worker, Michael Lenga, collapsed and died while laying tiles. Witnesses reported that he started bleeding from the nose before losing consciousness. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police have noted a rise in sudden deaths and plan autopsies to determine the exact causes in these cases.
