Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar has begun a historic three-day state visit to Kenya — the first by a Slovenian Head of State — as the two nations mark 21 years of diplomatic ties. She was welcomed by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Environment CS Deborah Barasa at JKIA.
President Musar will hold bilateral talks with President William Ruto to deepen cooperation in economic development, regional security, and multilateral reform. She will also be the guest of honour at Madaraka Day celebrations in Homa Bay County.
During her visit, she will inaugurate The Conduit Climate Intelligence Hub at JKUAT, a joint effort between JHUB Africa and Slovenia’s SPACE-SI to boost youth-driven innovation in climate action and digital agriculture.
This visit builds on growing diplomatic engagement, including Kenya’s first ambassador to Slovenia and a 2024 visit by Slovenia’s Foreign Minister. It is set to enhance collaboration in climate science, education, and sustainable development.
