Rebecca Miano has expressed appreciation for her appointment to the Tourism and Wildlife portfolio.
In a statement released today, Miano conveyed her gratitude to William Ruto for offering her another opportunity to serve in public office.
“I am sincerely thankful to H.E. President Dr. William Ruto for granting me a renewed chance in public service,” Miano expressed.
“I am honored to have the privilege and opportunity to serve my fellow countrymen and women, pending approval by Parliament.”
Miano, formerly the CS for Investment, Trade, and Industry, was among the initial group of Cabinet nominees announced by Ruto last week, where she had been initially nominated for the position of Attorney General.
However, Miano’s name was excluded from the list of Cabinet nominees submitted by Ruto to Parliament for vetting on Tuesday, July 23.
“Members of Parliament, Standing Order 42(1) regarding ‘Messages from the President’ stipulates that: ‘The Speaker shall read to the House any message from the President delivered to the Speaker for communication to the House,'” stated Wetang’ula.
“In this regard, I wish to inform the House that I have received a message from His Excellency the President, notifying the nomination of various individuals for appointment to the positions of Cabinet Secretaries,” he further announced.
Other nominees announced today include John Mbadi for National Treasury, Kipchumba Murkomen for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, Wycliffe Oparanya for Cooperatives and MSME Development, and Stella Langa’t for Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage.
