The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has been named Lead Destination Partner for Africa Global PR Week 2026, a continental communications summit scheduled for Nairobi from August 26 to 28.
Organizers expect more than 1,000 delegates to attend in person and online for the event, whose theme, “Redefining Africa: Africa as a Brand,” will explore how public relations professionals, government officials and academics can shape the continent’s global narrative through storytelling.
As part of the partnership, KTB will co-host a Destination Pavilion showcasing Kenyan culture and tourism experiences under the “Magical Kenya” brand, alongside curated travel packages featuring the Great Wildebeest Migration, Nairobi city tours and cultural circuits.
The announcement comes as Kenya heads into its busiest tourism month. August recorded the highest number of international arrivals in 2025, with 277,155 visitors, and industry figures expect a similar seasonal peak this year.
The PR week also precedes the 16th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), scheduled for October 6 to 8, which organizers say will host more than 10,000 delegates from over 40 countries. Kenya has set a target of attracting 5 million visitors annually as part of its broader tourism growth strategy.
Tourism industry players say the back-to-back events reflect a deliberate push to position Nairobi as a hub for both leisure travel and Africa-focused business and communications events.
KTB has not released a full delegate list for the PR Week’s Destination Pavilion but says further programming details will be announced closer to the event.
