Interior PS Raymond Omollo has encouraged young people to embrace government empowerment programmes as stepping stones to success. Speaking at a youth forum in Kisumu, he highlighted initiatives under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda as practical tools to help youth create jobs, innovate, and lead in key sectors like agriculture, MSMEs, housing, healthcare, and digital technology.
Omollo announced donations including tuk-tuks, motorcycles, a matatu, and funds to support small businesses, saying the government is committed to grassroots empowerment. He urged youth to adopt a proactive mindset, align with national priorities, and see leadership as solving problems — not just holding office. He also called on them to support and benefit from the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHA), a key initiative aimed at expanding access to affordable healthcare and creating jobs.
