Nairobi United head coach Nicholas Muyoti has urged his players to maintain full focus as the race for Kenyan Premier League promotion enters its final phase. With just a few games left, Muyoti emphasized the importance of treating every match like a final to secure promotion from the National Super League.
Following a 2-0 victory over Luanda Villa in a mid-week clash at Dandora Stadium, Muyoti praised his team’s performance, especially after a setback in their previous 1-0 loss to Kibera Black Stars. Goals from Enoch Machaka and Frank Ouya helped the Johnson Sakaja Foundation-sponsored side return to winning ways.
“We needed this win to get back on track. The boys responded well, and our aim is to win all the remaining matches,” Muyoti said.
Nairobi United currently sit top of the table with 69 points from 33 games, followed by APS Bomet (64 points) and Naivas (57 points). Darajani Gogo and Kisumu All Stars round out the top five with 52 and 50 points, respectively.
Luanda Villa coach Leonard Saleh attributed their loss to fatigue and nervousness, noting that it was the first time many of his players were competing at a large stadium, which may have affected their composure.
Elsewhere, Fortune Sacco solidified their eighth-place spot with a 2-0 win over Migori Youth at Kianyaga Stadium, thanks to goals from Elias Mugane and Lucas Askoe. Fortune now have 47 points from 30 matches, while Migori Youth remain 15th with 34 points.
