Police are investigating a series of deaths reported in different parts of the country, including suspected suicides and sudden illness cases.
In Mwihoko, Nairobi, Bradley Webale, a fourth-year Kenyatta University student, was found dead in his house after complaining of stomach pain. His body showed no visible injuries and was moved to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital for autopsy.
In Got Rabuor, Homa Bay, Gibson Otieno Nguka, 67, was found dead seated in his home. Police are investigating the cause of death.
In a separate incident in Kawangware, Nairobi, 35-year-old Samuel Oluoch died by suicide at his estranged wife’s home. He had returned after a year-long separation and was found hanging using a bedsheet.
Meanwhile in Kayole, a 27-year-old man died after allegedly ingesting poison. He was found writhing in pain but died in hospital during treatment.
Police say suicide cases are on the rise, with up to two reported daily. The World Health Organization cites factors like unemployment, mental health conditions, and substance abuse as major contributors.
