Maseno School is intensifying its efforts to return to the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) rugby 7s nationals, with preparations peaking ahead of Term Two games. According to the school’s director of sports, Caleb Olang’o, the upcoming Maseno School Elite Tournament — set for this weekend — will serve as part of their pre-season training. The event, which includes rugby 7s and basketball 3×3 for both boys and girls, will bring together top schools like Butula Boys, St Mary’s Yala, Bungoma High, Kabianga, and Agoro Sare. With teams from Nyanza, Western, and Rift Valley expected, the tournament will sharpen Maseno’s edge as they seek a national comeback after last appearing in 2023. Agoro Sare and Sawagongo are also eyeing strong performances in basketball, using the tournament to build momentum. Meanwhile, the Kinale Open Tournament will run concurrently, featuring volleyball, rugby 7s, netball, and football for junior and senior schools.
