Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has condemned the government’s agreements with the Adani group, criticizing them as non-transparent and lacking in competitive bidding. She highlighted the absence of public participation, a constitutional requirement. Karua questioned the long-term nature of the agreements, suggesting they unfairly bind future generations. She labeled the deals, including those involving JKIA and Ketraco, as unconstitutional and invalid. Protests have occurred against Adani’s involvement in JKIA management, while Ketraco recently signed a 30-year, Sh95.68 billion deal with Adani Energy Solutions to manage transmission lines. Opposition leader Raila Odinga has supported the agreements.
