Environment CS Aden Duale reflected on the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, describing him as a “good man” who could have shown more loyalty to Kenya’s Constitution and citizens. Duale, who had remained loyal to President William Ruto, despite pressure to join the Azimio camp, emphasized that loyalty offers rewards. Gachagua’s impeachment was upheld by the Senate, and he has since challenged it in court. Following the impeachment, Ruto nominated Interior CS Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President, pending a court ruling on his swearing-in.
