In Kisii County’s Kanyimbo Sub-Location, a 14-year-old boy drowned in a water-filled quarry while playing with friends. Locals, divers, and the Kisii County Rescue Team retrieved the body, now at the mortuary.
Meanwhile, in Kirinyaga County, a speeding miraa vehicle killed two children aged 12 and 7 years at Ngurubani along the Mwea-Embu Highway. The accident occurred Tuesday night when the driver, overtaking another vehicle, hit the children riding on a motorbike. The 12-year-old died on the spot, while the 7-year-old succumbed to injuries at Mwea Mission Hospital. Police are searching for the driver as investigations continue.
