Deluxe Trucks & Buses East Africa, the official distributor of Ashok Leyland trucks and buses in Kenya, has appointed Hussein Kamal as the new General Manager as it prepares for growth in the competitive road transport sector.
With over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, Kamal joins Deluxe Trucks and Buses, a subsidiary of Simba Corporation, from Truckmart Africa, where he served as General Manager for after-sales for five years. His extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the role will be instrumental in navigating the dynamics of the Kenyan market and promoting Ashok Leyland products.
Kamal expressed his vision for Ashok Leyland in Kenya: “My goal is to elevate customer satisfaction through improved after-sales support, which is essential for trucking business excellence in this market. We will strengthen our dealer network and enhance training initiatives for customers, supported by aggressive marketing strategies to establish Ashok Leyland as the leading commercial trucking brand in Kenya.”
In his new role, Kamal will provide strategic leadership and oversee business operations and growth for the Ashok Leyland brand in Kenya, reporting to Naresh Leekha, Group Managing Director of the Motors Division at Simba Corporation.
