President William Ruto met with members of the Kenyan Diaspora employed at the United Nations (UN) during his visit to the Kenyan Permanent Mission in New York.
This meeting, held in conjunction with the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), underscored the government’s commitment to supporting Kenyans living and working abroad.
“The government is focused on implementing strong measures to assist the Kenyan Diaspora,” he stated.
Ruto emphasized that his administration’s new Labour Mobility Programme aims to create more opportunities for Kenyans overseas, helping them secure jobs and succeed globally.
He proudly mentioned the substantial presence of Kenyans at the UN, tweeting, “I am proud to note that over 1,800 Kenyans are working at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.”
The Labour Mobility Programme is a key element of his administration’s strategy to leverage the potential of the Diaspora, enhancing Kenya’s global presence and improving the welfare of Kenyans abroad.
