Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power outage for Thursday, May 15, 2025, affecting multiple regions to allow for system maintenance. The blackout will occur between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm across eight counties: Nairobi, Nandi, Kisii, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, and Garissa.
In Nairobi, affected areas include parts of Parklands, Mbagathi Road, Langata Road, AMREF, Montezuma, Mbagathi Hospital, and Nairobi Water, among others.
In Nandi, areas such as Tulwo, Chepterwai, and Kamobo will be impacted.
In Kisii, the outage will affect Kangwana, Nyamache, Matierio, and nearby markets and schools.
In Nyeri, Eucabet, Kangaita Market, and Mirichu Primary will be among the affected locations.
In Murang’a, Muranga High, Mukuyu Market, and Kahuhia Girls are listed.
In Kirinyaga, power cuts will hit Kiaga, Kagio Town, Spenza Millers, and other nearby areas.
In Kiambu, Juja, Tinganga, Kamiti Ridge, and Thindigwa areas will be affected.
In Garissa, institutions like Garissa Referral Hospital, the County Assembly, and several neighborhoods will face power interruptions.
Kenya Power has advised residents in the listed regions to prepare accordingly.
