Despite 93 aid trucks entering Gaza on Tuesday after an 11-week blockade, the UN says no aid has been distributed. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said their team was not granted access to retrieve the supplies, which remain stuck at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
Israel allowed limited aid to enter, but the UN called the situation extremely complex and the current supplies insufficient compared to the estimated 600 trucks needed daily to address Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.
Concerns over severe malnutrition among children remain high. UN officials highlighted that around 14,000 babies are at risk of dying without immediate nutritional aid, though clarification showed this figure reflects expected severe cases over a year.
International pressure continues to mount on Israel. The UK has paused trade talks, labeling Israel’s military actions “morally unjustifiable,” while the EU is reviewing its trade agreement. Leaders from the UK, France, and Canada are calling for an end to Israeli military operations and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid.
The Gaza war began after Hamas attacked Israel in October 2023. Since then, more than 53,000 people have reportedly died in Gaza.
