Malkia Strikers will hold a training camp in Vietnam before heading to Thailand for the Women’s Volleyball World Championship from August 22 to September 7.
The camp, scheduled after the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League playoffs, will serve as final preparations and may include a warm-up tournament. KVF president Charles Nyaberi said the provisional squad will be selected after the playoffs, and those picked will join a residential camp to build team cohesion and improve tactics.
Players are currently focused on the playoffs, which begin today at Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium, with intense competition expected. Top players hope to impress national selectors.
Kenya is in Group G alongside Poland, Germany, and hosts Vietnam. Fellow African teams Cameroon and Egypt are in Pools H and A respectively, facing tough opponents like Serbia, Japan, and the Netherlands.
