Kenya Power has released a notice listing areas across 10 counties that will experience power outages on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, to facilitate essential maintenance. The scheduled interruptions will occur at various times between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., affecting regions in Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Siaya, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Kilifi.
In Nairobi, areas like Shauri Moyo, Mwiki Township, Wilson Airport, and surrounding institutions such as Moi Education Centre and T-Mall will be affected. Nakuru’s affected zones include Nkoilale and Talek markets. In Uasin Gishu, places such as Bishop Birech and Cheroroget will face outages, while Chepterit in Nandi is also listed. Other affected counties include parts of Kakamega, Vihiga (including Luanda Town), Siaya, Nyeri (such as Kiaruhiu and Gitangaruri villages), Kiambu (including Miguta and Kanjai), and Kilifi, where Watamu and Gede areas will see shorter outages from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
