He praised the author’s bold use of native language and storytelling in books like The River Between, Matigari, and Decolonising the Mind, calling him a true African literary champion. Gachagua offered prayers for the family, honoring Ngũgĩ’s legacy as one that will continue to influence the continent’s cultural narrative.
