Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has encouraged Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya to remain undeterred by critics following his appeal to the government to address increasing abduction cases.
Gachagua urged Natembeya to stay committed to serving the people of Trans Nzoia, dismissing critics as “Court Poets” and “Masters of platitudes” aiming to distract him. He emphasized the importance of speaking out for Kenyans, asserting that criticism signifies the impact of Natembeya’s voice in addressing injustices.
During a recent exchange with National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah at the burial of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula’s mother, Natembeya condemned remarks trivializing abductions and denied allegations linking him to past extrajudicial killings. He maintained that as a Regional Commissioner, he served with integrity and earned the trust of Trans Nzoia residents, who later elected him as governor.
Gachagua expressed confidence in Natembeya’s leadership and his ability to unite and advocate for his people.
