Police in Nairobi are investigating two separate incidents involving the sudden deaths of foreign nationals in residential settings. In the first case, Mohamed Nabil, a 52-year-old attaché at the Yemen Embassy, collapsed and died at his Kilimani home on the night of Sunday, May 25. According to his wife, he experienced breathing difficulties before collapsing. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The family reported no history of illness, and police have launched investigations, including a postmortem, to determine the cause of death.
In a separate incident in the Ngara area, 52-year-old South Korean tourist Shin Yoo was found dead in a bathroom at a rented apartment. He had been staying with a fellow South Korean while on holiday in Kenya. His companion told police that they had dinner and slept in separate rooms. The next morning, he discovered Yoo unresponsive in the bathroom. Medical responders confirmed his death, and the body was moved to the mortuary. The Korean embassy has been notified, and arrangements are underway to repatriate the body to Seoul for burial. Investigations are ongoing in both cases.
