Health facilities must move beyond symbolic recognition and build systems that empower nurses, said Dr. Susan Njuguna, Daystar University’s Dean of Nursing, during a ceremony marking the end of International Nurses Week at The Nairobi Hospital. She emphasized the need for proper staffing, emotional support, and policies that protect nurses’ well-being to improve healthcare outcomes. Nairobi Hospital CEO Felix Osano highlighted the hospital’s support initiatives, including training, scholarships, and conference sponsorships. Nurse Mercy Mkubwa was also honoured with a prestigious UK scholarship, underscoring the hospital’s ongoing investment in nursing excellence.
