Investigators believe the murder of Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko stemmed from a botched violent robbery. Ayieko was fatally injured after being beaten by suspects led by Robert Wakolo, a trained boxer linked to prior robberies and murders.
Wakolo allegedly inflicted severe head injuries on Ayieko while demanding bank and M-Pesa details. As Ayieko bled internally, the gang planned his body’s disposal, calling Wakolo’s brother for assistance.
The crime, committed between October 18-23 in Siaya, involved seven suspects. Two were shot dead during police operations, and others face murder and robbery charges. A 52-year-old man, Samuel Ongweso, was arrested on November 12 for aiding in disposing of Ayieko’s body in a stream.
