Marriott International Partners with Baraka Lodges to Launch JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge
Marriott International has finalized an agreement with Baraka Lodges to venture into Africa’s safari segment. Located within the esteemed Mara National Reserve, JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge is set to open its doors in 2023, offering discerning travelers an unmatched setting amidst one of the continent’s most renowned wildlife conservation and wilderness areas.
Positioned on the banks of the River Talek and at the reserve’s edge, JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge promises a distinctly elevated camp experience for guests to explore the Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its breathtaking vistas, diverse wildlife, and expansive plains.
The lodge’s blueprint includes plans for 20 private tents, featuring a presidential canvas-topped pavilion and two interconnecting canopied suites designed for families, each boasting a private terrace overlooking the river. Shared amenities will encompass a restaurant, lounge bar, spa, and a spacious outdoor terrace complete with fire pits, offering evening entertainment with traditional Masai dance performances.

JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge will provide guests with a luxurious backdrop to create unforgettable memories while connecting with nature and wildlife in unprecedented ways.”
Rohr added, “We are delighted to introduce adventure travelers, including families, to this awe-inspiring part of the world.”
At the core of JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge’s mission is the conservation of its natural surroundings and the local community. The lodge plans to employ up to 50 individuals from the Masai community, offering substantial educational opportunities for guests eager to engage deeply with the destination.”
