Detectives are probing a series of deaths reported across various regions in Kenya. In Nairobi’s Pangani area, James Mathenge, a teacher at Nadhir Integrated Academy, collapsed and died while playing soccer with pupils at Sir Ali Muslim Academy’s playground. Witnesses say he experienced breathing difficulties around 3 pm and was rushed to a nearby clinic, where he was pronounced dead. Police are investigating the cause of death and have transferred the body to the mortuary for an autopsy.
In another incident, a 14-year-old boy died from electrocution in Dandora, Nairobi. He had been washing a lorry near a petrol station when he stepped on a live wire on the wet ground. The driver, who had instructed the boy to clean the vehicle, alerted police after the tragic event. The body was taken to the mortuary pending further examination.
Meanwhile, in Kiptoror, Trans Nzoia County, the body of 75-year-old John Wanjala was discovered outside his home after he failed to return from a local shopping centre. Police found no visible injuries on the body, which was moved to Kitale County Referral Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
In Malaba, Busia County, Alfred Mbati, 35, died shortly after complaining of hunger and asking for food and warm water. He was later found unresponsive on open ground. Authorities transported the body to the mortuary as investigations continue.
