Two Cabinet Secretaries reassigned by President William Ruto in the latest reshuffle have shared their reactions.
Former Kwale Governor Sali Mvurya, now in charge of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, expressed his gratitude for the new role. Mvurya, previously moved from the Ministry of Blue Economy and Mining to Trade and Industry, said he looks forward to empowering youth through employment and skills development, advancing the creative economy, and promoting sports as tools for national unity and economic growth.
“It is a privilege to continue serving Kenyans and contributing to the Kenya Kwanza Manifesto,” Mvurya said on his X account.
Former Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, reassigned to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, also expressed gratitude for the President’s trust.
“Thank you, Mr. President, for this incredible opportunity. I look forward to supporting the President in delivering on his national security and administration agenda,” Murkomen posted on X.
He pledged to serve with honour and dignity, emphasizing his commitment to the new role.
Murkomen’s appointment to the influential Interior Ministry highlights the President’s confidence in him. A loyal ally of Ruto, Murkomen faced political setbacks under former President Uhuru Kenyatta but remained steadfast, ultimately securing a key role in Ruto’s administration.
