Police in Kisumu are pursuing a gang that attacked and robbed a senior officer on Sunday.
The officer, a Chief Inspector in charge of petty crimes at Kisumu Central Police Station, was injured while on patrol near Rotary Vocational Training Center. Two armed men attacked him, stabbing his left arm before robbing him of KSh 70,000.
Responding officers rushed the victim to a local clinic for treatment. A police team has since launched multiple raids, arresting and questioning several suspects, though the gang responsible remains at large.
Authorities described the incident as a routine robbery amid rising cases of armed attacks in Kisumu. Efforts to apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
