Police have cautioned motorists about potential traffic disruptions along sections of Thika Road on December 5 due to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) graduation ceremony.
The event, taking place at Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi, is expected to draw over 10,000 graduands and a crowd exceeding 40,000 people, potentially straining nearby roads and services.
Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei announced an increased police presence to manage security and traffic. He also warned of the possibility of pickpockets and other criminal activities targeting attendees.
“We urge motorists to follow instructions from officers on the ground,” Bungei said, adding that alternative routes are advisable for those not attending the event due to anticipated congestion.
The ceremony marks KMTC’s 93rd graduation, themed Fit-For-Purpose Health Workforce. The college remains a leading institution in training healthcare professionals in Kenya and the region.
