Police are investigating the drowning of a 35-year-old man at a hotel swimming pool in Diani, Kwale County, where he had been enjoying the water with other guests. According to police and witnesses, the man went missing while swimming, and his body was later found. He was rescued and rushed unconscious to Palm Beach Hospital, but unfortunately passed away during treatment. The body has been taken to Coast General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
In a separate incident in Ahero, Kisumu County, a 45-year-old man, Joseph Odhiambo Ojwang, was found dead in a water drainage trench in Kakola sub-location. Police reported that there were no visible injuries on his body. His remains have been moved to the Ahero Sub-County Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police are also investigating the death of 38-year-old Kelvin Ochieng, whose body was discovered in an abandoned quarry in Dandora, Nairobi. Ochieng, a casual laborer from the Korogocho area, is believed to have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the scene. The body has been taken to the mortuary for further investigation and an autopsy.
In Kisii, the body of an 80-year-old woman, Clemencia Kerebi, was found at her home in Kenyenya. She was discovered in a kneeling position next to her bed, a day after being last seen. Police have taken her body to Ogembo Sub-County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
