A virtual court hearing on Tuesday was abruptly interrupted when unknown individuals flooded the session with explicit adult content. The case involved survivors of sexual violence linked to the 2007-2008 election unrest.
Court of Appeal Judge Daniel Musinga, visibly disturbed, called the intrusion “deeply unsettling.” The hearing was halted, and a new link was issued only to legal representatives to prevent further breaches.
The case centers on allegations that the state failed to prevent and address sexual and gender-based violence during the post-election crisis. Some survivors were previously awarded compensation, while others are appealing for further justice.
