After three years of displacement, 73 students have returned to Cheptulel, marking a milestone in restoring peace. Operation Maliza Uhalifu, led by KDF, has significantly reduced banditry and cattle rustling, allowing schools to reopen.
Authorities, including Rev. Jackson Alukusia, assured the community of lasting stability, crediting government efforts. Since the operation’s launch, 172 illegal firearms have been recovered, and over 4,000 children have resumed learning.
The initiative has dismantled bandit hideouts, restructured police reservists, and reopened 26 schools, reinforcing long-term peace and development in the North Rift region.
