Sarah Wairimu has moved to the High Court to halt her prosecution over the 2019 murder of her husband, Tob Cohen. She argues that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is abusing his powers by relying on compromised evidence.
Wairimu was discharged in 2022 after the DPP withdrew the charges due to insufficient evidence. However, the state now claims to have new evidence and wants her to plead afresh. She insists the move is unfair, citing integrity issues in the investigation.
She is seeking to suspend proceedings at the Kibera High Court, where she is expected to take a fresh plea.
