Bisharo Iftin, a 21-year-old refugee from Somalia, gave birth to a baby girl and underwent successful surgery for a goiter after being referred to Garissa County Referral Hospital from the Hagadera refugee camp. Iftin had suffered from a dangerously enlarged thyroid for over ten years, which threatened her life during pregnancy. Despite facing transportation and financial challenges, she received life-saving treatment after a three-hour surgery, performed by a skilled team of doctors. The complex procedure was successful, and Iftin is now recovering well.
