President William Ruto is chairing a Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting with UDA MPs on Friday morning before unveiling a cooperation agreement with ODM leader Raila Odinga. Simultaneously, Raila is holding a Central Management Committee (CMC) meeting with ODM officials to brief them on the deal.
Ruto invited UDA lawmakers to a breakfast meeting at State House, Nairobi, followed by the PG session. The president is expected to defend the agreement and address concerns about government positions being ceded to ODM.
ODM has already secured parliamentary committee leadership roles, with Raila set to nominate allies to the cabinet as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, Raila is meeting top ODM officials at a Nairobi hotel to finalize discussions on the pact. His CMC meeting includes key party figures such as the Chairperson, Secretary-General, and National Treasurer.
The ODM leader recently concluded a nationwide consultative tour, assuring supporters that he would collaborate with Ruto’s administration while distancing himself from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
