A Nova Pioneer school bus overturned on Tuesday morning along Mombasa Road in the Sabaki area, Athi River, Machakos County. The bus was carrying schoolchildren at the time of the accident.
Athi River South Subcounty Police Commander Philis Muthoni confirmed that all the children were safe and had been taken to various hospitals in Athi River for medical checkups. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
The accident, which was self-involved, occurred as the bus was heading towards Mombasa. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash. The vehicle has since been towed to Athi River Police Station for inspection.
