Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago has proposed enrolling all MPs and civil servants in the Social Health Authority (SHA) to address challenges in Kenya’s healthcare transition. Speaking in Eldoret, he argued that including lawmakers would improve the system and counter criticism.
Mandago defended the move, saying it would push leaders to support SHA instead of advocating for a return to NHIF. MPs currently enjoy a medical cover worth Ksh 10.65 million annually, covering inpatient, outpatient, maternity, dental, and optical services, among others.
