President William Ruto has appointed former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero as Chairperson of the Kenya National Trading Corporation Board of Directors, effective November 15, 2024, for a three-year term. This marks Kidero’s return to government after a period away from public office.
In the same appointments:
- Anab Mohamed Gure joins the Nairobi Rivers Commission for a three-year term, replacing Millicent Omanga.
- Mark Kosgei Chesergon becomes Chairperson of the Kerio Valley Development Authority.
- Wenwa Akinyi Oranga takes charge at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute.
- Thuo Mathenge assumes leadership of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, succeeding Peter Weru Kinyua.
- Teobald Mukundu Wambugu becomes Chairperson of Tana Water Works Development Agency until July 2025.
- Nuh Nassir Abdi is now Chairperson of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre, replacing Victor Kioko Munyaka.
- Mark Lomunokol will lead Sports Kenya for three years.
Several previous appointments were revoked, reflecting the ongoing restructuring under President Ruto’s administration.
