The Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition Kenya concluded on Sunday, selecting three teams to represent the country at the global stage in Cannes, France.
The top teams in the digital, design, and print categories are now gearing up for the international competition. Team Vibe Tribe (Wanjiru Maina and Kelvin Njoroge) will compete in the print category, team Olie and Lou (Olive Wangari and Louis Lukata) in design, and team Just Bold (George Buliba and Allen Onduru) in digital.
Silver awards went to team Kinjal and Muskaan (Kinjal Sheth and Muskaan Shaikh) for print, team Cool Waters (Sylvia Mwihaki Kimathi and Gathoni Matu) for design, and team Scan Social (Wangu Mwenda and Martin Sultan Tenye) for digital. Bronze winners included team Schizzo (Mwangi Jabez and Newton Kiogora) for print, team Full Copacity (Kevin Gichimu and Victor Mureithi) for design, and team Sisi (Boniface Gitauwa and Alvin Murimi) for digital.
The competition, held at EABL headquarters in Nairobi, saw 10 teams compete, bringing together 60 of Kenya’s best young creatives, all under 30 years old.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Emuron Alemu, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of The Quollective Africa, celebrated all participants, emphasizing the significance of their creative talent.
Safaricom, the title sponsor, praised the impressive work produced within 24 hours. “Some of these ideas could be implemented at Safaricom,” said Zizwe Awuor, the company’s Director of Brand and Marketing.
Tusker Marketing Manager Christine Kariuki also lauded the participants, stating, “Your creativity and talent are unmatched.”
With their victory, the winning teams now set their sights on the global competition, where they will showcase Kenya’s creative excellence on an international stage.
