An autopsy confirmed that Kenyan police officer Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai died from a single gunshot to the head. His body was flown from Haiti to Kenya for burial in Kajiado.
Kaetuai was killed in a gang confrontation in Port-au-Prince on February 23 while on duty under the Multinational Security Support Mission. A memorial service in Haiti honored his bravery, with Haitian officials urging public support in the fight against gang violence.
Inspector General Douglas Kanja mourned Kaetuai as a hero and assured that the well-being of Kenyan officers in Haiti remains a priority.
