Inspector General Douglas Kanja has urged police officers to strictly operate within constitutional limits to minimize public complaints and build public trust. During a visit to Laikipia County Police Headquarters, Kanja praised officers for their service and emphasized the importance of mental health support and peer encouragement.
He advised officers to seek professional help when facing challenges and to prepare for retirement with sound financial and family planning. Kanja also called on officers to familiarize themselves with the National Police Service Strategic Plan and the Maraga Taskforce Report, stressing the need to stay informed about ongoing reforms and digitization in the service.
He highlighted that well-prepared officers can help transform police stations into centers of excellence. Kanja was accompanied by top police officials including Deputy IG Gilbert Masengeli and GSU Commandant Ranson Lolmodooni.
