Pastor Dorcas Rigathi extended her condolences to Reverend Kathy Kiuna following the passing of her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, assuring her that God will provide comfort during this difficult time.
Bishop Kiuna was laid to rest in Thindigua, Kiambu County, on Wednesday, in a ceremony attended by dignitaries, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The funeral service took place at Paradise JCC, one week after Bishop Kiuna passed away from Multiple Myeloma on July 9, following a six-year battle with bone marrow cancer.
In her tribute, Pastor Dorcas reminded Reverend Kathy that God is the ultimate finisher of all He begins. “Sister Kathy, I want to remind you that before the foundations of the Earth, God has the final say and He will make a way,” she said.
Bishop Kiuna, the presiding preacher at Parklands Jubilee Christian Church, was 57 years old. He publicly shared his cancer journey in 2019, a year after his diagnosis. During a memorial service held at Faith Evangelistic Ministry Family Church in Karen, Kathy shared that her husband had a premonition about his passing, frequently expressing his desire to “go home” and mentioning a host of angels awaiting him.
Pastor Dorcas emphasized that, even before this tragedy, God had already prepared a path for Kathy and her children. “He will sustain you. I urge you to hold on to three things: faith, hope, and love; the greatest of these is love,” she said. “Embrace what he cherished, align with God’s vision, and continue the mission he entrusted to you.”
In his tribute, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, delivering a message from President William Ruto, honored Bishop Kiuna as a visionary leader whose kindness impacted many lives. He urged Reverend Kathy to build upon the enduring legacy her husband left behind.
“Bishop Kiuna was a remarkable man of God, having built a significant church over 25 years with a global following. We assure Reverend Kathy of our prayers and solidarity during this challenging time,” he stated.
President Ruto described Bishop Kiuna as a true friend and an extraordinary faith leader, whose authentic and engaging sermons inspired many. “He was a General of the Word of God, focused and dedicated to uplifting those in need,” the President remarked.
