Former PSRA Director General Fazul Mahammed is set to revolutionize the private security industry with a guard-hailing app that allows Kenyans to hire security personnel on demand. The platform will connect users directly with trained security guards, bouncers, and event security stewards, cutting out intermediaries and ensuring better wages for guards.
Fazul likens the platform to Uber and Airbnb, saying it eliminates inefficiencies and inflated costs imposed by security firms. With over 800,000 guards already onboarded, he envisions the platform becoming Kenya’s largest private-sector employer. The app will allow users to scale security services as needed, enhance emergency response times, and bring transparency to the industry while reducing costs for clients.
