Police disarmed a licensed businessman after he accidentally shot an 11-year-old boy while pursuing a gang in Nairobi’s Kawangware. The businessman reported that three men armed with metal bars entered his shop, aiming to steal Kenya Power meter boxes. After they assaulted him and fled with the items, he chased them with his Glock pistol, accidentally injuring the boy in the cheek during the pursuit.
The boy received treatment and was discharged. Police are now investigating the incident, subjecting the weapon to ballistic testing. Authorities remind gun holders to exercise caution, especially in crowded areas, to avoid unintended harm.
