Nairobi United inched closer to FKF Premier League promotion after securing a 2-0 victory over Luanda Villa in a rescheduled clash at Dandora Stadium on Wednesday, courtesy of goals from Enock Machaka and Ivorian import Frank Ouya. The win propelled Nairobi United to 62 points, keeping them firmly at the top of the standings ahead of APS Bomet (55 points) and Naivas (50 points), with Kibera Black Stars in fourth on 48. While Nairobi United and Naivas have played 30 matches, APS Bomet and Kibera Black Stars have a game in hand. United will face Samwest Blackboots on Sunday at Vapour Ground in Ngong, while APS Bomet take on a resurgent Darajani Gogo on Saturday at Marist University in Karen. Naivas will travel to Machakos for a duel against MCF, and Kibera Black Stars host Fortune Sacco at Jamhuri Complex. Darajani Gogo coach Paul Ogai remains optimistic about clinching a playoff slot, trailing third-placed Naivas by just three points. He anticipates a high-tempo match against APS Bomet, aiming to improve on the defensive errors that led to a 2-2 draw against Naivas. This weekend’s fixtures will be crucial in shaping the promotion and playoff picture, with several teams jostling for critical points.
