Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has strongly refuted claims that Sh13 billion was spent on his African Union Commission (AUC) campaign.
Speaking on the matter, Odinga dismissed the reports as baseless, questioning how such an amount could have been used.
“Some claim Sh13 billion was spent on my campaign. I don’t know what world they live in. A billion shillings for what? The funds used were necessary for travel, and we did not live luxuriously,” he stated.
He further explained that many countries generously provided accommodation, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with other government departments, facilitated appointments.
“I want to thank my brother for this support,” Odinga added.
