Police in Tononoka, Mombasa, are investigating a murder after a man’s body was discovered inside a sack. A group collecting scrap metal noticed a foul smell from a sack they had loaded onto a lorry and, upon opening it, found the body.
The victim, identified as Kilo Moke, 60, owned the scrap metal shop. Authorities suspect he was killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the site. The government has been cracking down on gangs involved in infrastructure vandalism for scrap metal. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and those responsible.
In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man was found dead at a bus stop in Parklands, Nairobi. Pedestrians alerted the police, and authorities reported no visible injuries on the body, which was moved to City Morgue for identification and autopsy.
Meanwhile, a student at Buret Polytechnic in Kericho County is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed in the chest by a fellow student during a hostel altercation. The assailant fled the scene, and police are pursuing him.
