Nyandarua Senator John Methu has called on MPs traveling to Addis Ababa for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson elections to cover their own expenses. Speaking on Citizen TV, he criticized the use of public funds for the trip, arguing it would be wasteful. Methu questioned the necessity of 100 MPs accompanying Raila Odinga, stating their role in the process is minimal. Raila, Kenya’s candidate, is set to compete against Djibouti’s and Madagascar’s contenders in the February 15 elections.
