Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Molo-based activist Richard Haga Otieno, who was killed on January 18, 2025, near his residence in Elburgon Town.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrests, including two bodaboda riders who transported the alleged killers and three others linked to the attack. The suspects will appear in Nakuru Court on February 3 for further legal proceedings.
An autopsy revealed Otieno suffered multiple slash wounds to the head, causing a skull fracture and brain hemorrhaging. His wife reported he had received threats, believed to be linked to his activism. His murder triggered protests, forcing police to relocate his body to Kericho for preservation amid rising tensions.
