Adili Group Executive Chairman Chris Diaz participated in key discussions at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. Engaging with global leaders, he attended the US-Kenya Business and Investment Roundtable, the CEO Roundtable on Africa’s Growth, and the Private Sector Forum. During these forums, Diaz emphasized Africa’s potential for transformative change, highlighting the private sector’s role in advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing challenges like food security, climate change, and economic inequality.
Diaz underscored the importance of partnerships between businesses, governments, and international organizations to unlock new markets and enhance trade. He advocated for responsible digital transformation and highlighted how Africa must focus on creating opportunities for youth through entrepreneurship and sustainability initiatives.
Intra-African trade was also a focal point, with Diaz stressing the private sector’s ability to generate jobs, foster innovation, and create long-term social impact across the continent. Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa, who also participated in the U.S-Kenya Business Investment Roundtable, echoed similar sentiments, stating that technology-driven solutions can help address societal challenges.
This dialogue reinforced the importance of collaboration across sectors in tackling Africa’s pressing issues and driving its growth.
