Detectives are investigating a case in Nairobi’s Hazina estate where a woman allegedly poisoned her five-year-old son before attempting suicide.
The 23-year-old mother, who ingested the same toxic substance, is in critical condition at Kenyatta Hospital. Police reports indicate she used a mixture of beauty products to poison her son before neighbors found her struggling in the house. The child was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Authorities are awaiting the woman’s recovery to determine further action.
