The Uganda Law Society (ULS) has expelled Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka and the Solicitor General, along with their representatives, in an executive order from ULS President Isaac Ssemakadde. This action seeks to restore trust in Uganda’s legal system amid integrity concerns. Despite the expulsion, Kiwanuka remains a ULS member. The decision stems from issues like conflict of interest and alleged misconduct, including financial mismanagement and interference in judicial matters. The ULS also criticized his role in imposing fees for digital access to Ugandan laws, which it sees as unconstitutional.
